Frequently Asked Questions

Expert advice for your backcountry adventures

How do I choose the right ski length for ski mountaineering?

Generally, HAGAN recommends choosing a ski that reaches between your chin and forehead. For technical mountaineering, a slightly shorter ski provides better maneuverability in tight couloirs, while wider touring skis should be longer for better floatation in deep powder.

Do HAGAN skis come with a warranty?

Yes, all HAGAN skis are covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This does not cover damage from rocks, impact, or improper mounting by non-certified technicians.

What is the shipping timeframe for international orders?

Standard domestic orders typically arrive within 3-5 business days. International shipping times vary by region but generally take 7-14 business days. Expedited shipping options are available at checkout.

Can I return bindings if they have already been mounted?

No, we cannot accept returns on skis or bindings once they have been drilled or mounted. We recommend confirming your boot sole length and preferred mounting point before finalizing your setup.

How often should I maintain my HAGAN climbing skins?

To ensure maximum longevity, clean your skins of debris after every tour and store them using 'skin savers' or cheat sheets. We recommend re-gluing your skins every 2-3 seasons or whenever the adhesive becomes contaminated or loses its tackiness.

Are HAGAN skis compatible with all tech bindings?

Our skis are designed to be compatible with all standard alpine touring (tech) and frame bindings. However, we strongly recommend using HAGAN or ATK bindings for the most weight-efficient and high-performance mountaineering experience.
